I'm going to share with you the NO.1 CHALLENGE beginners (and even intermediates) in calligraphy face...
And more importantly, how to overcome them - so keep reading!
You might think it’s to do with…
Not having the right skills or knowledge…
Lacking the necessary experience…
Not feeling confident…
Those are good reasons but the biggest challenge BY FAR is…
“I don’t have time.”
We live in a world filled with things that demand our every attention -
Information, social media, family, friends, work, career, our partner, our kids…
No wonder we become so protective of how we spend our time.
But the truth is, ‘not having time’ is actually NOT the real reason.
Everyone has the same 24 hours in a day.
All we have is time.
Rather, it’s a question of:
“How can I MAKE TIME when…”
“I’m so busy?”
“I don’t feel motivated to pick up my pen?”
“I don’t feel confident about which tools to use or how to letter properly?”
“Learning something new takes too much commitment?”
I know, I’ve asked myself those questions many times.
But we need to take action in order to improve, right?
There’s no other way around it.
And taking action means we first need to commit to making time for calligraphy.
So what’s the best way to overcome this huge challenge…
That so many calligraphers face?
Here are what’s truly helped me and my students:
#1: Just start
Want to be a writer? Start writing!
Want to lose weight? Start exercising!
The same goes for calligraphy. The key is to start small - small steps leads to big results.
#2: Know your ‘why’
Realise that calligraphy is there to help you escape the noise…
So you can dedicate precious time to YOU.
Then your mind is not filled with the busyness of the day that zaps your energy.
Remember: Your action is heavily influenced by your thoughts and emotions. So you need to have a mindset that is empowered to pick up the pen and start lettering.
#3: Find a one-stop learning program
If you’re strapped for time, you want to find the easiest way to learn calligraphy…
This is one of the biggest mistakes calligraphers face.
They spend too many hours and days, maybe months or even years trying to find the right information and lessons...and they're already busy in their day-to-day living!
The key to progress and improvement with calligraphy is to find a one-stop program that has everything you need in one place.
#4: Find accountability
The least ideal person to keep you accountable is you.
Which is why most calligraphers procrastinate since they decide when they should or should not do calligraphy.
Find someone to keep you accountable like an accountability partner, a coach or a community.
That way, you can stay on track towards your goals.
Which is why my program Kimmunity was setup to provide these exact 4 solutions to help overcome the biggest challenges calligraphy enthusiasts are facing every single day!
It consists of 9 modules and over 30 video lessons.
